From design to installation: how a custom metalwork project progresses

Clearly defined stages help coordinate technical decisions, fabrication and site work.

Custom fabrication works best as a connected process. Design, fabrication and site work affect each other, and decisions at one stage influence the next.

1. Initial information

We review the requirements, dimensions, loads or performance criteria, surroundings, connections to other structures and schedule.

2. Planning the work

The solution is designed to be practical to manufacture and install. Transport, lifting, connections and site access should also be planned at this stage.

3. Fabrication

The structures are manufactured according to the agreed design, materials and quality requirements.

4. Installation

The fabrication dimensions are checked against actual site conditions. Careful planning reduces unexpected modifications during installation.

5. Handover

Depending on the project, handover may include inspections and documentation. The precise scope is agreed for each project.
